Planning for Your Safety

If you need immediate help please call our 24-Hour Hotline: (860) 701-6000 or (860) 701-6001

Safe Futures’ certified crisis counselors work with everyone who calls us to assess their safety and risks.  We will discuss the cycle of abuse and help victims understand how they can better protect themselves, while they better their situation. This can take time.

Safety plans are one way we can help someone be more safe.  We can identify safe places in the home and areas to avoid.  We can help a victim prepare and plan for leaving safely and how to change up their routines to avoid being followed.

We also offer safe shelter and will assist in getting individuals and families to a safe place.

Safety planning can take place over the hotline and at our walk-in counseling centers in New London and Norwich:
